The chicken and the waffles are really good! They have a bunch of different shmears (flavored butter) to choose from that take the flavor to the next level — I just wish that the sides were better.
Looking for a nice place with great food and great customer service? Dame”s is your place. The food is great, the customer service is perfect, the attention to detail is next level. We had a wonderful experience and looking forward to the next visit. That menu has slot to offer.

My flight was canceled so I had to stay overnight in Raleigh. I used the app to find a brunch spot that wasn’t too far from the hotel so the Uber wouldn’t cost too much. Well, I got there and definitely thought the food was worth its cost, plus the Uber cost to and from. I was not disappointed. I ordered sweet potato waffle, orange butter, and honey mustard. I also ordered the mac and cheese, which was pretty good. I liked the waffle and clicked the best though. My mimosa was sweet and tasty. I am not sure much champagne or wine was in it. I ordered shrimp and grits to go, but the waiter forgot to put the order in. As with most places right now, they are short staffed. I think it was an honest mistake and a good reason to go back.
Who new a sweet potato waffle, honey mustard chicken, and orange shmear could taste so ridiculously good together! Expert flavors!
Great food. Cute ambiance. I love the sweet potato waffle with the cutlet. Mac and cheese is pretty good too.
Sometimes there’s just nothing better than a classic order of chicken and waffles. Dames satisfies my soul food cravings. They take a classic and add there own twists to it. The schmears are awesome and I really loved that they offered vegan waffles as well. If you a chicken and waffles fanatic, this is the place for you.
Visit was great. Went on Friday about 11a. Seated right away, food was hot and delicious. Waiter was very courteous. Many people picking up carry out.

Dame’s is a special go to for me and friends. I have visited multiple locations and I always get the same quality food and the service is as equally as amazing. If you haven’t been here it is a must try. They have something for everyone.
We are regulars here. It’s our favorite local Durham restaurant (they have a few other locations but started in Durham). It’s where we always bring our out of town visitors when we eat out! :)
