Came by for the first time today and it was such a great experience. Ordered a Jerk chicken combo with dark meat and mac & cheese. My order took an hour but that was because there was a large order ahead of me probably in preparation for the UFC fight that was going on later that night. They were upfront about the wait and since I lived down the street, I didn’t mind at all. Props to them for the transparency and if they have THAT many orders, it meant it had to be GOOD. Got my food and oh my goodness, it was the fastest drive home because it smelled amazing. Finally opened up my box of dark meat, mac & cheese, cooked cabbage and onion, a grilled plantain and something that reminded me of a hush puppy (correct me if I’m wrong please!) with two sauces on the side. The meat was so tender and just flavorful enough where it didn’t clash with the sauces. The mac & cheese was so cheesy and had some smoke to it, I’m still wondering how they did that. The cabbage was good—I never had it in that style and I’m not sure how to describe it but as someone who meticulously likes to know the breakdown of their food (grew up SUPER picky), I chowed it down pretty quick without regret. Definitely coming back and since I didn’t mention it, service was great here!
