This spot gives roadside seafood shack vibes in the best way. If you know, you know and if you don’t, it’s time. Their deviled crabs are fried, flavorful, and full of history. I've had almost every dish on the menu and it hits every single time.
This place is playful, bold, and full of personality, just like the pies. Every slice tells a story in its flavor profile. But what really sets it apart is the owner’s heart for community. She doesn’t just serve pie, she teaches it, too, with fun workshops that bring folks together one crust at a time. Sweet, meaningful, and always memorable.
Walking into Sweet Girl’s feels like stepping into your grandma’s kitchen if your grandma also has an eye for Instagram-worthy decor. The red velvet cake is rich and classic, the macaroons are soft little clouds, and every treat tastes like it was made with love. It’s sweet, it’s soulful, and it’s almost too pretty to eat…almost.
You’ll feel right at home here. It’s classic soul food done right. The oxtails, mac n’ cheese, and yams are my go-to plate when I need comfort on a fork.
Cool, cozy, and full of charm. This cafe is a must for breakfast or lunch. Come for the Brioche French toast or any of their breakfast sandwiches, stay for the atmosphere and friendly staff.
Fresh-baked bread, buttery pastries, and sandwiches that go off. The asiago bread is a standout, and the jerk chicken sandwich is one of my favorites. They sell out often, so if you want first pick, get there early. It’s the kind of bakery you smell before you see and trust me, that smell is a good sign.
Come for the lemon pepper wings, stay for the wild combos you didn’t know you needed. Things can get a little salty and a little saucy with certain flavors (literally), but that’s the vibe. The menu is big, bold, and built for people who don’t play about their chicken.
The cupcakes here are soft, flavorful, and full of personality, just like the owner. He’s truly one of the sweetest people you’ll meet and always brings good energy. Some of the recipes are straight from his family, adding a special touch. The shop is small but bright and inviting. Most grab their cupcakes to go, but it’s always worth the stop.
The Avenue Grill is one of those neighborhood spots that quietly holds it down. From juicy burgers to seasoned wings and loaded breakfast plates, the menu’s got range. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find regulars and real-deal comfort on every plate.
This spot is legendary, known not just for its smoky, tender barbecue, but also as the birthplace of the curly fry. Yep, the curly fry. Add that to juicy ribs, baked beans, and the must-have cakes, and you’ve got a true Jacksonville institution that’s stood the test of time.
Family-owned with a sweet tooth for detail, Arble makes baked goods feel personal. Bonus? They often offer free cookie samples, which is honestly reason enough to stop by. Small batch. Big energy. Arble Baking Co. is one of those spots where you can taste the love in every sweet you eat.
Tucked inside an unassuming plaza, Vantage Point is the kind of coffee shop that surprises you in the best way. The lattes? You truly can’t go wrong with any flavor. From cozy nooks to community tables, the seating options fit whatever vibe you’re on. Work, sip, or just reset.
